The first Dutch focus group session was held online on November 6. It included participants from different backgrounds, i.e. museum settings, dementia research, and informal care. During the session the proposed set-up for the platform was discussed and participants could give their opinion about the content, learning methods, evaluation tools, and accreditation.
Some valuable insights were gathered about the needs of cultural institutions and caregivers to achieve a sustainable dementia-inclusive cultural environment. The participants agreed that collaboration with informal carers, municipalities, and relevant organisations, as well as long-term financing, are key to the successful implementation of dementia-friendly and accessible cultural settings.
The Memorable consortium will now analyse all the comments and insights from the participants. Together with the results of the focus group sessions from Bulgaria, Germany, Ireland, and Portugal, these insights will be used for the co-creation of the Memorable e-learning platform and trainer manual.
